Sania Mirza goes on her Haj pilgrimage

New Delhi: Former tennis player Sania Mirza has left for Haj pilgrimage. Sania informed about this on social media platform X and said that she has got the opportunity to go on this holy journey after a long wait. Sania Mirza has started her holy journey of Haj.

Sania made an emotional post

Former tennis sensation Sania Mirza announced on her social media that she has got an ‘incredible opportunity to go on a holy journey’, as she will soon be in the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia. In a long note shared on her X account, Sania wrote, “My dear friends, I am preparing for a new experience. I apologize to all of you for all my mistakes. At this time my heart is very emotional and full of gratitude. I hope Allah will accept my prayers and guide me.

Mirza further said, “I am very lucky. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers. I am embarking on a very special journey of life. I hope I come back as a better person with a good heart and strong faith.”

Has retired from tennis

Before this Sania Mirza has performed Umrah. Just after retiring from tennis last year, Sania performed Umrah with her close ones. She shared several pictures on her Instagram, in which her parents, sister and her son were seen. She wrote the caption, “Alhamdulillah. May Allah accept our prayers.”

Difference between Hajj and Umrah

For those who don’t know, Hajj is farz (obligatory) for every Muslim, while Umrah is a Sunnah. In simple words, Hajj which is also called the fifth pillar of Islam is a long and religious journey that is performed only at a particular time of the year. On the other hand, Umrah is a short pilgrimage that can be performed at any time of the year.
